We are sponsored by Post 3 of the American Legion. Our membership includes riders living in Lincoln and southeastern Nebraska.
The national website description gives guidelines for joining. We are firstly members of the Sons of the American Legion, the Legion Auxiliary, or American Legion. If you own a motorcycle with a 350 cc engine or larger and are a member of the Legion family, join us! As members of the American Legion family, we ride as we honor those who have served and who are serving. We are actively recruiting, so please contact us, regardless of your current post or membership! For example, if you have recently moved from New Hampshire to Nebraska, you are welcome to join the Lincoln ALR and maintain your original post membership. We will also help with joining the American Legion family. Officer contact information is on the right sidebar. Email officers@lincolnalr.info for more information. SGT Patrick Hamburger's Funeral
The Family of SGT Patrick Hamburger invited the Patriot Guard Riders to lead a tribute to his supreme sacrifice by providing escorts and flag lines during his final journey home.
According to the Nebraska National Guard, SGT Patrick Hamburger died Saturday, 6 AUG 11, in Wardak Province, Afghanistan, when insurgents attacked his CH-47 Chinook helicopter, en route to a combat mission, using a rocket-propelled grenade launcher. SGT Hamburger was a member of the Nebraska National Guard, Company B, 2nd Battalion, 135th General Support Aviation, based in Grand Island Nebraska.
